Freeway Recruitment are currently seeking a 3.5 Tonne (Maxi) Van driver's to start on one of our clients Home delivery contracts.

The position is a long term ongoing position and we are looking for 2 drivers to work together working sharing driving responsibilities.

We are looking for immediate hires pending registration with our agency including legal driving checks.

Salary:

Basic pay - £10.50ph

Hours:

06:00am starts Monday to Friday

Job Description:

As a Home delivery crew member / driver you will be working as a two person team on all deliveries and collections and will be responsible for the following daily tasks.

*Our client utilises 3.5 Tonne Maxi-Vans. Drivers should ideally have experience of driving Maxi sixed vehicles. Drivers MUST be familiar with Maxi Van vehicle heights and safe route planning as to avoid bridge strikes as the vehicles carry a higher box than standard vans or long wheel based vans. Extra care must be taken when driving due to the additional height.

Checking vehicle for defects and recording down any faults with vehicle

Checking vehicle with deliveries ready for daily delivery.

Going out on specified run , following the daily run sheet and contacting customers when on route to location.

Ensuring goods are safely unloaded from the vehicle to customers houses to a specified room of choice, this can involve white glove delivery (which will be trained by our client)

Ensuring delivery electronic signatures are met by customers

Reporting any failed deliveries on a daily basis to operations manager using cab phone.

Reporting any daily incidents to the operations manager.

Driving and operating Vehicle in a safe manner

Adhering to companies policies and procedures whilst maintaining excellent customer service at all times.

Requirements for the role;

Before starting work for our client all candidates will be required to undertake a pre work induction which is made up of both an online induction and onsite induction. The induction will be paid, based on successfully passing and turning up for work on your scheduled start date. Our agency team will discuss the induction process with each candidate at the point of registration.

A full and valid driving licence with UK Class B driving licence Tonne entitlement.

At least 6 months cumulative experience delivery experience of delivering commercial goods professionally.

No more than 6 points with no DR , DD OR IN endorsements

Experience of working with in Home delivery is an advantage although not essential.

Experience of heavy manual handling (handballing) of goods. Drivers must be physically fit and able to meet the demands of delivering heavy goods to customers.

2 work references - One of which must be a professional driving reference
